RedOaks Energy Advisors, LLC is an advisory firm founded in 2018 as an affiliate of TenOaks Energy Advisors, LLC. Our mission at RedOaks is to provide results-oriented divestiture advisory services to a historically underserved lower middle market space through our strong technical acumen and pro-active marketing approach.

Maximizing value for our clients is paramount, so RedOaks leverages the deep technical bench of its affiliate TenOaks Energy Advisors to ensure that each mandate receives an unprecedented level of service.

David Carter

Partner

David has spent 15 years working in the oil and gas industry primarily focusing on debt capitalization of oil and gas companies. David is a Partner at RedOaks Energy Advisors, LLC (“RedOaks”). Prior to joining RedOaks, he served as Senior Vice President – Energy Finance at LegacyTexas Bank (“LTB”). At LTB, he focused on facilitating debt financing for both E&P and midstream oil and gas companies. His clients included publicly traded and privately held organizations that covered multiple U.S. oil and gas basins. He earned a B.S. in Finance from the University of Oklahoma and a MS in Accounting from the University of Virginia. David was featured in 2021's Forty Under 40 honoree

Clay Snyder

Vice President - Geology

Clay joined TenOaks/RedOaks in February of 2021. Clay has 12 years of upstream E&P experience working for both private and publicly traded companies. Prior to joining TenOaks/RedOaks, Clay served as Senior Geologist for Jones Energy in Austin, Texas where he worked SCOOP, STACK, and the Western Anadarko. Clay has direct experience in the Anadarko, Permian, Arkoma, and East Texas Basins working for EXCO Resources, Silver Creek Oil & Gas, and Jones Energy. Clay earned his B.S. in Petroleum Geology from the T. Boone Pickens School of Geology at Oklahoma State University and is currently pursuing his MBA from the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University.

 

Tara Sharma

Director - Engineering

Tara joined RedOaks in February of 2020. Prior to joining RedOaks, Tara worked for Anadarko Petroleum starting in 2015. Tara held multiple reservoir and production engineering roles within Anadarko in their Houston and Midland offices. These roles included performing multi-variate statistical modeling and serving as the production engineer over assets in the Northern and Eastern Delaware Basin. Most recently, Tara worked with Anadarko’s planning team dynamically modeling their capital and production budgets. While in Midland, Tara served as the Social Director for the Midland chapter of Young Professionals in Energy. Tara was born and raised in Austin, Texas and attended The University of Texas at Austin, where she graduated with a B.S. (Honors) in Petroleum Engineering in 2015.  While on campus she served as President of the UT Austin Student Chapter of SPE and as an active member of the Friar Society. Tara was featured in 2022’s Forty Under 40.

 

Will McDonald

Vice President
Will joined RedOaks in January 2019. Prior to RedOaks, Will served as an analyst at TCWM, a private wealth management group. Will earned a B.A. in Economics with a concentration in Energy Management from Southern Methodist University. Will serves as a board member for the Young Professionals in Energy (YPE) – Dallas chapter. He holds the Series 7 and 66 licenses.
 

Kassie Redd

Senior Technical Coordinator

Kassie joined RedOaks in March of 2022. Kassie has 15 years of industry experience working primarily on corporate reserves and A&D. Prior to joining RedOaks, Kassie worked for Vine Energy Inc. on their Reserves and Reservoir Engineering team. As Senior Reservoir Engineering Technologist, she managed the corporate reserves database and ran valuations for their successful IPO and divestiture to Chesapeake Energy Corporation. Kassie also served as Senior Engineering Technologist at Aethon Energy, working reserves, budget/planning, and A&D through multiple investments that grew the company from scattered family assets in 2013 to becoming a major Haynesville operator. Kassie’s oil and gas foundation was built at Netherland, Sewell and Associates, Inc (NSAI), where she worked on numerous reserves and economic evaluations for a variety of public and private companies. Kassie attended Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, where she earned a dual B.A. in Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences and Anthropology.

 

Zach Friesenhahn

Reservoir Engineer

Zach joined RedOaks as a Reservoir Engineer in July of 2022. Prior to joining RedOaks, Zach worked for Berkshire Hathaway Eastern Gas and Transmission as a reservoir engineer for six years, where he prepared reserves for both conventional and unconventional assets across Appalachia, including the Marcellus and Utica Shale.  Zach earned a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering and an MBA with a specialization in Energy Management from the University of Oklahoma and is a native of McKinney, Texas.

 

Heather Cole

Associate

Heather joined RedOaks in January 2020.  She earned a BBA in Finance with Distinction along with minors in Accounting and Spanish at the University of Oklahoma.  During her senior campaign, Heather was the sole receiver of the Outstanding Senior in Finance award from the Price College of Business.   Prior to joining RedOaks full time, Heather completed an internship with RedOaks in Dallas as well as a corporate finance internship with Circle 9 Resources / Bison Energy Services in Oklahoma City.

 

Austin Cain

Associate

Austin Joined RedOaks in December of 2021. Prior to joining RedOaks, Austin was a business consultant at Ernst and Young  where he supported the audit for a variety of public companies in the financial services sector. Austin attended the University of Texas at Austin where he earned a BBA in Finance from the McCombs School of Business. Most recently, Austin completed an internship with RedOaks while earning his MS in Finance from Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of business.
